Movie: School Circles – Every Voice Matters (EN) – A Film by Charlie Shread & Marianne Osório
Date and Time: Friday, 05/09, 19:00-21:00
Place: Round Corner (Runde Ecke)

School Circles is an independent documentary that explores the practice of democratic schools in the Netherlands. The film shows students, teachers and staff members coming together to dialogue, discuss proposals, mediate conflicts and make decisions about their school life.

These schools not only challenge the mainstream education, but also democracy as we know it. They put into practice Sociocracy, a method for collective organisation based on a systems perspective, in which the decisions are made by integrating all the voices through consent.

School Circles connects the theory of sociocracy to its practice within schools, taking us to new possibilities of organising ourselves and our communities.

Games for Global Citizenship Education and ESD (EN/DE) – with Lisa Becker from CAMBIO e.V.
Date and Time: Saturday, 06/09 + Sunday, 07/09, 14:30-15:00
Place: Courtyard (Hof)

How can ESD topics and Global Learning be explored in a playful way? We introduce various games and try them out together. Through 'gamification,' global connections are presented in a more tangible way. Some of the games use character cards to encourage participants to experience the perspectives of other people (from the Global South), which can help foster empathy.

Play for example:

• "Das Gute Leben für Alle" (Universität Siegen, https://thkopp4.wixsite.com/thegoodlifeforall/de)
• "Vision Mensa" (www.in-form.de) – key pillars of sustainable nutrition and school catering
• "SDG Stapelwelt" (Landesverband Nachhaltiges Sachsen) – Game about natural resources and the needs of different groups of people
• "Ökolopoly" (Cybernetic environmental and planning game by Frederic Vester)
• "Tomaten-Rallye" (Konzeptwerk Neue Ökonomie) – Food waste along a value chain
• Climate Game "Keep Cool"
• Card games on various topics (e.g., ocean pollution)

Movie: Radical (2023) (EN/DE)
Date and Time: Saturday, 06/09, 19:00-21:00
Place: Attic Hall (Dachsaal)

Radical is a 2023 Mexican comedy-drama film written and directed by Christopher Zalla, based on the 2013 Wired article "A Radical Way of Unleashing a Generation of Geniuses" by Joshua Davis, who also co-produced this movie.

At one of the poorest elementary schools in Mexico, teacher Sergio Juarez (Eugenio Derbez) tries to restore his students’ joy of learning. Using innovative methods, he teaches children from a disadvantaged neighborhood whose lives are marked by violence and poverty.

Performance: Trash Fashion-Show (EN/DE)
Date and Time: Saturday, 06/09, 20:00-20:30
Place: Round Corner (Runde Ecke)

A critical fashion show that addresses social and environmental exploitation in the fast fashion sector, particularly in the Global South. With creative upcycling alternatives, the event encourages visitors to rethink their relationship with clothing and consumer culture through artistic expression. Concepts such as fair fashion and slow fashion are introduced.

The Toltec teaching „Masewaliztli“ (EN/DE) – Talk with Benuz from Hanse 3 e.V.
Date and Time: Sunday, 07/09, 15:00-16:30
Place: Round Corner (Runde Ecke)

Being a Macehual is nourishing society with what one has learned. This topic enriches the concept of global education by showing how, in Toltec philosophy, the ‘Macehual’ was a fundamental principle, and how this same concept can be applied in the present day.

About Benuz:
Benuz is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural events producer, and promoter of Anahuac culture.

Performance: I Cease (EN) – Collected Experimentation from the Art for Change Project
Date and Time: Sunday, 07/09, 17:00-17:30
Place: Courtyard (Hof)

What happens when we stop? From stillness, movement is born. Like in the cosmos – where two black holes collide, sending ripples across space-time – here, the meeting of bodies creates human resonances: glances, collisions, encounters that compose an unrepeatable performance. From Chaos, a new order emerges. A different way of communicating, of moving through space, of being. I Cease is an exercise in making a pause – and experiencing what unfolds within it. Is it a subversive gesture. Why has stopping it become a privilege? To cease means to stop, but also to adjust, to conclude, to make way for what comes next. I CEASE is the echo of a question: What am I aware of when I stop?

About Art for Change:
The Erasmus+ project Art for Change combines non-formal and art-based methods to explore global issues. Participants engage in creative workshops such as land art, stop-motion, and performance art, alongside thematic sessions on different topics connected to sustainability and human rights. The program culminates in the Political Art Days, where participants present their work to a wider public.

Pressefreiheit – Mehr als eine Story! (DE) – Talk followed by a Q&A / discussion by the educational initiative SPREUWEIZEN
Date and Time: Sunday, 07/09, 17:30-18:30
Place: Round Corner (Runde Ecke)

Journalist*innen dokumentieren, recherchieren, kritisieren.
